From Banking to Brushstrokes: A Serene Sanctuary at Double Cove

If you’re looking for a sign to finally turn your apartment into a high-end sanctuary that actually feels like you, our recent project at Starview, Double Cove is exactly the inspiration you need.
We recently had the pleasure of designing a home for a young professional in the banking industry. Her brief? A space that could balance her fast-paced career with her love for the slow, intentional arts of Chinese calligraphy and specialty coffee brewing.

The Vibe: Mid-century Warmth Meets Nordic Zen
The aesthetic is all about "soft luxury." We traded clinical whites for a palette of warm walnut, cream textiles, and organic textures. From the moment you walk in, the herringbone oak flooring leads your eye toward the natural light, making the entire living area feel open and incredibly grounded.
To keep the narrow living room from feeling cluttered, we utilized a bespoke floating console. It doesn't just hold the TV; it transitions into a delicate display for the client’s calligraphy scrolls, illuminated by soft, integrated lighting.

Designed for the Daily Ritual
One of our favorite details is how we integrated her passions into the layout. In a city like Hong Kong, every square inch counts, so we optimized the kitchen with rich wood cabinetry and stone counters to create the ultimate "coffee corner." It’s the perfect spot to dial in a pour-over while looking out at the skyline.

A Master Bedroom for "Unplugging"
We carried that sense of calm into the private quarters. The master bedroom features integrated joinery with soft arched detailing—a subtle nod to classic architectural forms. By using textured wallcoverings instead of plain paint, the room feels cozy and cocoon-like, the ultimate place to unplug after a day on the trading floor.

The Spa-Like Retreat
Even the bathroom got a total textural makeover. We used vertical subway tiles in an earthy clay tone, paired with brushed bronze hardware and a custom stone vanity. It’s a sensory experience that feels worlds away from the glass and steel of the office.

This project wasn't just about "decorating"—it was about creating a space where our client could transition from the precision of the financial world to the fluid strokes of a brush. It’s proof that your home can (and should) be a reflection of your favorite rituals.
