Delite Court

At Delite Court, a lifetime of collected furniture, art and memories shapes a cosy home for retirement. Designed for a couple with roots in the United States and Hong Kong, this 1,200 sqft apartment brings together two backgrounds through the belongings they have treasured over the years.

The collection became our starting point. Traditional Chinese furniture, decorative objects and handcrafted wooden pieces from the husband’s hometown each carry a personal connection. We designed the interior around these pieces, giving them space to be appreciated while creating a comfortable setting for the couple’s everyday routines.

A restrained palette of warm timber, cream upholstery and soft earth tones brings continuity to the varied collection. The rich patina of existing cabinets and carved wooden stools sits alongside the softer forms of a curved sofa and round coffee table. Their differences add depth, with colour and material drawing the room together.

In the living area, timber wall panelling provides an architectural backdrop for the furniture and objects. Artwork punctuates the quieter surfaces, while carefully considered spacing allows individual pieces to stand out. The arrangement takes its cue from a museum, where each object is given attention and room to tell its story.

The dining space carries the same sense of warmth. A rounded stone table and upholstered chairs gather beneath a softly glowing paper pendant, with wooden screens adding texture and a gentle sense of separation. Traditional artwork and cherished furniture remain part of the setting, woven naturally into meals, conversations and visits from friends.

Throughout the apartment, the design balances display with the ease of daily living. The collection gives each room its identity, while soft lighting, tactile finishes and comfortable seating make the home feel welcoming.

Delite Court is a home shaped by what its owners hold dear—a place to enjoy the next chapter surrounded by the craftsmanship, memories and familiar pieces that have accompanied them this far.
