INNOVATION HUB, VSA

The Innovation Hub at VSA gives curiosity a practical home. Across a connected series of spaces, MAD Studio brings discussion, experimentation and display into a shared architectural language, allowing the process of learning to remain visible.

Timber cabinetry forms the steady foundation of the interior. Worktops, storage trays and tool displays establish order, while open shelves give models and completed pieces a place within the daily life of the rooms. Glass partitions preserve visual connections between different activities, with changes in colour and furniture arrangement helping each setting find its own identity.

The learning spaces range from group tables to a more formal arrangement for discussion and presentation. Large displays are integrated into the surrounding joinery, and generous work surfaces leave room for projects to unfold. Blue and warm coral tones define areas underfoot; brighter green and yellow accents add energy to the making spaces. Circular ceiling lights and softened joinery details bring a friendly scale to an environment equipped for focused work.

This approach to modern classroom interior design treats organisation as a support for possibility. Tools can be found, projects can be seen, and the room can accommodate different stages of thought. The overall atmosphere is purposeful and open, giving students a setting in which an initial question can grow through conversation, testing and the satisfaction of making something tangible.
