BOARD MEETING ROOM, VSA

Quiet composure defines VSA’s Board Meeting Room. A long timber table establishes the centre of the space, surrounded by warm tan seating and a restrained envelope of pale wall panels. The room has a measured presence, allowing attention to settle on the people around the table.

MAD Studio gives the interior its character through proportion and continuity. Linear ceiling lights reinforce the length of the room, while concealed illumination softens the junction between walls and ceiling. A darker, patterned carpet adds depth beneath the furniture, balancing the brightness of the perimeter glazing. Timber doors and integrated cabinetry belong to the same material family as the table, creating a setting that feels resolved from one end to the other.

Technology is accommodated within this clear architectural composition, with presentation displays and table provisions integrated into the meeting environment. Smaller details offer a more tactile counterpoint: circular timber handles, the grain of the joinery and the gentle glow of peripheral light. In the accompanying washroom, timber slats, a pale stone-patterned counter and globe pendants continue the same considered atmosphere.

Drawing on the principles of office interior design, the project balances the formality of a boardroom with the comfort of a welcoming interior. Its sense of quality is cumulative, emerging from the relationship between light, texture and proportion rather than a single grand gesture.
